The story of Queen Esther is a tale from the Old Testament about a Jewish woman of color who is recognized for her strength and courage. She caught the eye of the King Xerxes and he soon made her Queen of Persia. King Xerxes’ advisor, Haman, hated the Jews and demanded for them to be executed. Thousands of Jews were at risk of being murdered. Esther went before the King and asked him to stop Haman’s plan. The King rewarded Esther’s bravery, and saved the Jewish people.

These are the stories of women who exemplify the strength Esther once showed. Just as Esther did, they have met adversity and risen above it to continue to live a proud Jewish existence. These descendants are her daughters.
